The Purpose Behind Pain

Did you know that you have the authority over all the things you worry about in life? That you have power over all the things that bring you down! That there is power in your pain? The apostle Paul gives his account on the power found in pain in Romans chapter 5:1-5. “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” He said we GLORY in tribulations. That when we see trouble we should be happy. That trouble is an opportunity for a change in our character. A change in out character is exactly what God is looking for when He calls us. We just have to push through it. Jesus taught the disciples that in this life they will have many troubles. The same goes for us. He followed by saying, He has over come the world and so will we. God allows us to face trials to produce the character we need to be used by Him for the greater good. He knows that when you push through your pain it produces a good character in you. This is why the trials are severe and the devil puts in double overtime in your situation. Even he knows you persevere through your situation you shake up hell. So he gives it everything to try to stop you. When the devil comes to trip you and you fall and get up it confuses him. Thats the last thing he is expecting. It is also the very thing God is expecting. That you can find your power even in pain. If you can persevere through pain you can do anything. So now I have to ask you. How are you living? Like a defeated solider or a son or daughter of a mighty warrior? Are you living your life based on what you see or what you believe? When things go wrong where is your faith? Are you discouraged or encouraged to persevere? The bible says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 How do you respond when you do not see the victory? Do you keep going because you believe in God’s word or give up? When you get consumed by negativity? When someone does you wrong? When you don’t look how you would like to look? How do you respond? Think about how you respond to the things that hold you back and weigh you down. How do you respond to the things that put you down in your life? Do you respond with pain or power? Your reaction can turn your situation around. You were called to overcome not to be overwhelmed. Go and respond accordingly. Respond with power. Pray: Lord, I want to thank you for allowing trials to test my faith. I know you are using these trials to produce my character and that everything you do works for my good. I ask that you help me to endure my pain and turn my pain into power through perseverance.
